Hypertext Markup Language, usually abbreviated HTML, is a standard markup language used to create web pages. Along with CSS and JavaScript, HTML is the cornerstone technology used to create web pages and user interfaces for mobile and web.
HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language, which is used to create web pages and web applications. Let's see what hypertext markup and web page mean.
Hypertext: Hypertext simply means "text within text". There is a link in the text, it is hypertext. When you click on a link that takes you to a new web page, you have clicked on hypertext. Hypertext is a way of linking two or more web pages (HTML documents) to each other.
Markup Language: Markup language is a computer language used to apply layout and formatting conventions to a text document. Descriptive language makes the text more interactive and dynamic. It can convert text into images, tables, links, etc.
Web page: A web page is a document generally written in HTML and translated by a web browser. A web page can be identified by entering a URL. A web page can be of static or dynamic type. Only HTML allows us to create static web pages.
So HTML is a markup language used to create attractive web pages using a style that looks nice in a browser. An HTML document consists of several HTML tags, and each HTML tag contains different content.
